Over the past three years, the Government of India’s initiatives such as Start-Up India have powered fundamental changes for world’s fastest growing major economy. Entrepreneurship, intellect and ideas are fuelling Indian start-ups to become agents of socio-economic growth through skill development, job creation and integration with the global marketplace.
One of the core development sectors in India is renewable energy, which serves the dual aims of enhancing national energy security while promoting sustainable development. India has set a challenging target to achieve 175GW renewable energy capacity by 2022, replace 30% of its total energy basket with renewables by 2030, and have 100% Electric Vehicles by 2030. These ambitions are more than mere numbers; they equal opportunity for our entrepreneurs.
To salute this spirit of #NewIndia, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India is organising the 2nd Global RE-Invest Start-Up Awards, as a showcase event of this year’s RE-Invest, being held from 19-21 April 2018 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, India. With these Awards, the MNRE aims to provide a global platform to path-breaking Indian renewable energy start-ups by presenting their innovations to an eclectic panel of experts, potential investors, and international media.
