Mr. Wigand is an Associate Director at the global energy consultancy Guidehouse (formerly Navigant/Ecofys). He is an expert on energy procurement and power sector reform, coordinating the energy procurement activities of GH’s offices in Europe and the Middle East. He has advised development institutions (USAID, EBRD, GIZ, Energy Community), the EU, governments and investors on renewable energy auctions in more than 20 countries. Previously, Mr. Wigand was a Senior Analyst Regulation & Markets for the investor group Desertec Industrial Initiative. He holds an MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics. As auctions experts of the USAID Scaling-Up Renewable Energy program and the Partnership to Advance Clean Energy Deployment 2.0, he has worked with the MNRE and authored the report “System-friendly Competitive Renewable Energy Procurement in India”.

Shri Jatindra Nath Swain is the Additional Secretary in Government of India and currently holding the post of Managing Director of the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), which is a Government of India Enterprise set up in 2011 for implementation of National Solar Mission. Before joining SECI, Shri Swain worked as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) Government of India. Shri Swain joined SECI as the Managing Director in August, 2017 and since then he has been spearheading the schemes to develop renewable energy projects in India through various schemes of the Ministry. Under his leadership, SECI has been able to develop about 5 GW of solar and wind projects each and is currently in the process of auctioning 30 GW of solar & wind projects in next 2 years. Shri Swain is an IAS officer of 1988 Batch, Tamil Nadu Cadre and has held various key positions in the State of Tamil Nadu: these include Principal Secretary in Department of Food & Cooperation and Department of Public & General Administration, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Commissioner of Land Administration, Commissioner of Revenue Administration & Disaster Management, Commissioner Technical Education, Commissioner Watershed & Soil Conservation and Collector in the districts of Perambalur and Paudukkottai. Shri Jatindra Nath Swain holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, New Delhi and a Master’s degree in International Development Studies from Graduate Institute of Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan.

Nawal SainiManaging Director, Investments, Renewable Power, Brookfield Nawal Saini is the Managing Director within BAM India Group responsible for Renewable Power investments in India. Nawal Saini joined Brookfield India in 2018 and has over 15 years of investing and financial services experience. Prior to joining Brookfield, Nawal worked briefly with CDPQ and with JP Morgan’s Asian Infrastructure Fund for over 6 years, overseeing investments and asset management in the infrastructure, and power space. Prior to JP Morgan, Nawal was part of Jacob Ballas, A New York Life sponsored sector agnostic private equity fund. Nawal started his career as a banker with SBI Capital Markets and ABN Amro Bank. Ranjit has extensive experience in Renewable Energy, Thermal Power and the O&G industry with specialities in Project Management, Business Development, Bidding, and Project Finance. Prior to Azure Power, Ranjit co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ostro Energy where he spearheaded growth through a prudent renewable energy auction strategy entailing an equity investment of $280 million and a debt of about $900 million to build a 1100 MW renewables platform. Prior to Ostro, Ranjit co-founded Orange Renewable where he steered the capital raise of $65 mn equity and executed RE projects of 180 MW on BOO basis and developed a pipeline for another 350 MW. He has also served as founding CEO of Indiabulls Power, leading construction of over 5000 MW of Thermal Power projects. Prior to his, Ranjit worked at Schlumberger for 12 years in various field and management positions across various geographies. Ranjit holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Rohan serves as the Senior Global Director of policy and business development at Tesla, where he oversees global regulatory and legislative efforts on EVs, charging infrastructure, solar generation, and battery storage. Previously, he served as Senior Advisor for Climate and Energy Policy to President Barack Obama at the White House, where he worked on power sector and transportation policies in addition to being President Obama’s primary liaison with local government officials. Rohan also served as Associate Director at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary Thomas Vilsack at the United States Department of Agriculture. Prior to his appointment to the Obama Administration, he held leadership roles in the Obama Presidential Campaign and Inaugural Committee, the administration of Iowa Governor Chet Culver and on staff for US Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana. Rohan is a graduate of Northwestern University and a native of Goshen, Indiana. He currently lives in the Washington DC area with his wife and two daughters.

Rupam Raja is Market Director for Fluence in Asia Pacific Region. Fluence, a joint venture of Siemens and AES is the market leader for grid connected, MW scale battery storage with over 2100 MW projects developed or under development in 22 countries around the world. In his role, Rupam is responsible for market development of battery storage in the region. He has successfully developed a portfolio of over 500MWs of grid connected battery storage projects in SE Asia providing regulation reserve services to the national grid. In India, Rupam is associated with the 10MW 1 hour battery storage project developed by AES, Mitsubishi and Tata Power DDL in Delhi where Fluence is the technology provider. Prior to Fluence, Rupam worked with an international environmental risk consultancy and before that he was developing renewable energy portfolios for a private equity group for a global IPP. Rupam is based in Gurgaon, Haryana.
